I was googling looking for information on refinishing an old dining room table and chairs. I love the way yours turned out. I just had a couple of questions hoping you could answer. What did you sand the chairs with sand paper or just rough them with steel wool? Did you prime the chairs and if so with what? You did 2 coats of paint but did you use spray or a brush to apply the finish coat? Also is the color black or dark brown?

Today was pretty Seattle-ish in Chapel Hill. So I planned to call you for your beef stew recipe, but I didn't have a crock, so I figured I'd wing it.

It turned out great, but a lot of it is strikingly similar to curries that I make. But yeah, beef stew made me think of you.

Cooking a dish from another culture than the one you grew up with is intimidating. That was why it was so nice to join you for cooking the chili. Thanks!

I love you! Mom

Did you mention that I won the chili cook-off? Hmmmmm.....not too shabby.

Also, that you put a slice of cornbread in the bowl and then scoop the chili onto it?

Hmmmmm.....I'm hungry!

Leave it to Mom to worry about your reputation. Now I'm sure that it's happened before, and that she can handle that type of situation in public. By the way, I need to make a road trip your way one of these days and stop into the shop!!! Come visit your lowly hometown yarnshop when you head here next time!!! Miss you!!!
